Israeli Military Technicians to Face Charges in Alleged Iran Spy Case

(MENAFN) Two aircraft technicians in the Israeli military are expected to face charges over allegations that they carried out espionage activities on behalf of Iran, according to a media report published on Wednesday.

An Israel’s state broadcaster reported that the individuals serve in the Israeli Air Force as F-15 technicians at Tel Nof Airbase near Ashdod. They are accused of “assisting the enemy during wartime,” with one of them potentially facing charges that could amount to treason.

The report also stated that eight additional soldiers stationed at the same base are under investigation for allegedly failing to report the suspected activities, despite being aware of them.

According to the allegations cited in the report, the suspects were reportedly instructed to gather information related to National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and former military chief Herzi Halevi.

They are also accused of passing along sensitive materials, including documents connected to aircraft engine schematics, as well as a photograph of a flight instructor.
