Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Southern Lebanon Towns

(MENAFN) Israeli airstrikes on Sunday struck multiple towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in at least 11 deaths and several injuries, according to reports.

In the Tyre district town of Hanniyeh, seven people were killed and several others wounded in one strike, as reported by sources. A separate strike in the nearby town of Jwaya killed two and injured three more.

Two paramedics also lost their lives when an Israeli airstrike hit a facility operated by the Islamic Health Organization near Bint Jbeil Hospital, according to reports.

These attacks are part of Israel’s ongoing air and ground operations in southern Lebanon following a cross-border assault by Hezbollah on March 2. Lebanese authorities report that 1,142 people have died and 3,315 have been wounded since the escalation began.

The heightened violence occurs alongside the ongoing US-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has reportedly killed over 1,340 people since Feb. 28. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, US military installations, and Gulf nations.
