Israel Plans Sweeping Strikes on Iran’s Defense Facilities

(MENAFN) The Israeli military on Saturday issued a warning that it may expand its campaign to target every element of Iran’s defense industry, as its ongoing offensive moves into a second month.

In an official statement, army spokesman Effie Defrin said Israeli operations over the past days have intensified the damage inflicted on Iran’s military manufacturing capabilities.

“Over the next few days, we will complete the attack on all fundamental and vital components of Iran’s defense industry,” Defrin said, adding that a significant portion of Iran’s weapons production capacity would be eliminated.

He further stated that Israeli forces carried out strikes on Friday against two key facilities involved in aerospace production, along with a site linked to uranium activities.

The situation unfolds amid continued escalation following the large-scale offensive launched by the United States and Israel on Feb. 28. Since then, more than 1,340 people have been killed, including Iran’s Supreme Leader at the time, Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran has launched repeated waves of drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military bases. These retaliatory actions have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and air travel.
