Cuba's Leader Calls for Halt to U.S.-Israel Aggression in Middle East
Speaking through a post on X, the Cuban leader aligned Havana firmly with the chorus of international voices condemning ongoing military operations in the region.
"Cuba joins international calls to immediately end the violation of international law resulting from the aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran and Lebanon, involving political assassinations and indiscriminate attacks," Diaz-Canel said on X.
The Cuban president further outlined his government's broader regional stance, affirming Havana's commitment to the principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity for all states in the area. He called for an immediate halt to military actions responsible for civilian casualties and the destruction of civil infrastructure across Gulf nations — countries with which Cuba maintains established ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation.
Diaz-Canel closed his remarks with a pointed appeal for restraint, underscoring the gravity of the current moment.
"Cuba ratifies the call to preserve the principle of good neighborliness, moderation and dialogue at this delicate moment," Diaz-Canel said.
