Lufthansa Prolongs Tel Aviv Night Flight Suspension

(MENAFN) Lufthansa Group announced on Thursday that it is prolonging the suspension of nighttime flight services to and from Tel Aviv until Feb. 3, while also maintaining its policy of steering clear of Iranian and Iraqi airspace.

"Until Tuesday, February 3, Lufthansa Group flights to and from Tel Aviv will operate as daytime flights," a company spokesman told a news agency. "This means that crews will return directly without staying overnight."

In addition, the German airline has halted all services to Tehran through March 28, marking the conclusion of the winter flight timetable, attributing the move to operational considerations.

Although Lufthansa Group planes will continue to bypass Iranian and Iraqi airspace, the carrier noted that sections of Bahrain’s airspace are once again available for use.

The spokesperson added that the company is carefully tracking regional developments and will reevaluate conditions in the days ahead. Travelers impacted by the changes will be rebooked automatically and contacted in advance.
