Iran warns US attack would make Israeli, American sites fair game

(MENAFN) Iran’s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, issued a stern warning that Israel along with American military and shipping facilities would be treated as “legitimate targets” should Washington initiate a strike against Tehran.

During a session of parliament, Ghalibaf directly addressed U.S. President Donald Trump, declaring: “Within the framework of legitimate defense, we do not limit ourselves to responding only after an action. In the event of a US military attack, both the occupied territories (Israel) and US military and shipping centers will be legitimate targets for us.”

He emphasized that Iran is currently locked in a multi-dimensional struggle with both the United States and Israel, describing the confrontation as spanning economic, psychological, military, and terrorist fronts, all of which he said are “unfolding simultaneously.”

Meanwhile, Trump remarked that Iranians were “looking at freedom” as demonstrations that began on December 28 continued to expand across the country, noting that Washington was prepared to provide support, according to reports.
