Israel Reactivates Gaza Ceasefire After Strikes Kill Over Ninety
In a statement, the Israeli military stated it "has begun the renewed enforcement of the ceasefire" after receiving directives from the political leadership.
The military said its overnight operations struck “dozens” of militant positions and targeted about 30 senior operatives in various armed factions. It did not identify the groups involved.
The strikes, according to Israel, were conducted "in response to Hamas' violations", and the military added it "will continue to uphold the ceasefire and respond firmly to any breach."
Health authorities in Gaza reported that the bombardments from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning killed at least 91 people.
Israel blamed Hamas for a deadly fire in Rafah on Tuesday that claimed the life of a reserve soldier and accused the group of holding the remains of hostages. Hamas rejected the allegations, saying it was struggling to locate some burial sites.
